Colombian president to undergo surgery

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos was admitted to a Bogota hospital yesterday for surgery to have a tumour removed from his prostate. Mr Santos is the latest in a line of Latin leaders to undergo cancer treatment. In Brazil, Dilma Rousseff and her predecesso­r Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva have undergone treatment. So did Paraguay’s former president Fernando Lugo, and Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez.
