AIA ‘close to buying’ ING units

AIA Group yesterday rose to a seven-month high in Hong Kong after the thirdlargest Asia-based insurer was said to be close to buying ING Group’s Malaysian and Thai units. ING is negotiating final terms to sell its businesses to AIA for about €1.4bn, two people familiar with the matter said last week.
