BTA Bank to swap debt for notes

- ALMATY

State-run BTA Bank has said it has reached a nonbinding agreement with creditors on restructur­ing $11.2bn of liabilitie­s, the Kazakh lender’s second debt overhaul in as many years. The agreement with the creditors’ committee to swap existing debt for new notes and cash did not include Nomura Internatio­nal, according to a statement yesterday.
