Detention ‘torture’ for Karabus

Detaining Prof Cyril Karabus in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has more to do with torture and nothing to do with justice, said Mzukisi Grootboom of the SA Medical Council. He was expected to return to SA last week. A court appearance yesterday was postponed. “We urge all doctors to be cautious when practising in the UAE,” Dr Grootboom said.
