Khmer Rouge man apologises
The Khmer Rouge’s former number two admitted for the first time yesterday he shared responsibility for the actions of a regime blamed for the deaths of almost 2-million people in the late 1970s. Nuon Chea, 86, expressed a “sincere apology” to the victims. Led by Pol Pot, the Khmer Rouge from 1975-79 wiped out nearly a quarter of Cambodia’s population.
