Travellers still check bags
With the airlines collecting record bag fees, some 55% of all travellers still check their luggage either all or some of the time. This was the finding of a recent survey conducted by The GO Group, an international ground transport service provider and GO Airport Express, a GO member and ground transport company serving O’Hare International and Midway airports. More than 570 travellers were polled on their luggage preferences. Twenty-seven percent said they always check their luggage, while 28% said they both check and carry on. Only 19% said they always carry on. The 15 largest carriers in the US collected a combined $3.5bn in bag fees last year.
