Singapore spends on new aircraft

- SINGAPORE

Singapore Airlines, Southeast Asia’s biggest carrier, agreed yesterday to buy $17bn of aircraft from Boeing and Airbus SAS, as economic growth across Asia spurs travel demand. The airline agreed to order 30 more Airbus A350900s and 30 Boeing 787-10x, Singapore Air said. Aircraft makers usually give discounts from catalogue prices.
