I tried to call Gostner
DEAR SIR — I take issue with Karl Gostner (Unfounded allegations, Letters, September 20). He implies I did not make any attempt to contact him with regard to his decision to reject a Mantelli’s Biscuits radio advert. In fact, I did indeed call Primedia in Cape Town to be told by a lady (unidentified) that Mr Gostner was away for the day. She then gave me the correct spelling of his name. My error was not to have left a message to the effect that I called.
The rest of Mr Gostner’s complaint has been adequately dealt with by Errol Denman (Ad deserves a chance, Letters, September 24).
