Wits climbs in world rankings

The University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) has risen in the academic ranking of world universities by Shanghai Jiao-Tong University, Wits said yesterday. Wits placed in the 201-300 category of the ranking system, and follows its placement as the best university in Africa last month by the Centre for World University Rankings.
