Zuma restarts IEC selection

VACANCY The process to fill a position on the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) that has been vacant for almost seven months will be restarted on the orders of President Jacob Zuma. The Presidency said Mr Zuma had requested Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng “to re-initiate the process” as the previous short-list provided by a panel Justice Mogoeng chaired “did not provide sufficient choice with regards to gender and race”.
