Madiba shirts materialise

A new Presidential Store opens in Nelson Mandela Square today, bringing “Madiba shirts” to Sandton for the first time. The Presidential brand was founded in 1994 when designer Desré Buirski gave former President Nelson Mandela a batik “Fish Shirt” as a gift two days before his inauguration as president of SA. She went on to make more than 150 shirts for Mandela.
