Parliament must go
SIR — I didn’t believe I would ever agree with Julius Malema, but his demand that Parliament be dissolved is correct.
Other parties demanding that President Jacob Zuma resign is all very well, but we must not forget that all of the African National Congress (ANC) MPs supported him when the expenditure on Nkandla came to light, some telling blatant lies. There was also not a murmur over the Gupta jet landing at Waterkloof airforce base (and police being used as escorts), or the constant undermining of the public protector. The rot is deep.
Scapegoats are unearthed everywhere just to protect Number One. On top of this we have an economy in freefall, a threat of junk status and a dismal exchange rate. These alone should result in the resignation of government. Agreed, the many sheep will still vote for the ANC, but they will even- tually understand why they didn’t get one of the promised 5-million jobs.
What more needs to happen before these destroyers of wealth decide to resign?
Hopefully, we will not go the way of the rest of Africa — a disastrous coup and some kind of dictatorship.
