Leon’s blind spot
SIR — While Tony Leon has a right to present his views and opinions, and no doubt his perspective is appreciated, it should not be forgotten that in addition to being a former leader of the opposition, he was also a former ambassador to Argentina, appointed by President Jacob Zuma (President’s qualified apology echoes typical irresponsibility, April 5).
Mr Leon does not seem to have had any qualms accepting the post.
Mr Zuma’s antics are nothing new. All we are seeing is an amplification; a larger scale. Many chose to ignore the warnings and now have to live with the consequences thereof.
Let’s hope Mr Zuma’s advisers will have the common sense to advise him to resign. Muhammad Omar Durban North
