Electronics industry sparks jobs in Cape PERFORMANCE

The electronics industry is fast becoming a key jobs driver in Cape Town, with the city continuing to attract major foreign direct investment in the sector. According to the city’s latest Economic Performance Indicators for Cape Town report released this week, the electronics industry was the city’s fastest-growing manufacturing sector in 2004-14, growing at an average rate of 4.4%. A total of 16 foreign direct investment projects totalling R1.6bn were made in the industry in 2003-15.
