Role of police ‘tied to human rights’

DIALOGUE European Union ambassador to SA Marcus Cornaro told the South African Human Rights Commission’s dialogue on human rights and policing yesterday there was a strong link between the role given to police forces‚ their behaviour and human rights. He said if police refused to file a complaint, for example, they betrayed the system meant to protect citizens’ rights.
