Ac­tivists slam hos­pi­tal ‘cri­sis’

The Treat­ment Ac­tion Cam­paign and SECTION27 have con­demned what they have re­ferred to as a “hos­pi­tal night­mare” in the Free State‚ say­ing they re­ceive hourly re­ports of a cri­sis emerg­ing across the prov­ince. Com­plaints in­cluded pa­tients be­ing turned away from hos­pi­tals, preg­nant women hav­ing to lie on floors and op­er­at­ing rooms with non­func­tion­ing lights. The or­gan­i­sa­tions de­manded ur­gent in­ter­ven­tion by Pres­i­dent Ja­cob Zuma and Premier Ace Ma­gashule.
