Court overturns Trinity fraud ruling

Trinity Industries will not have to pay a $663m judgment awarded in a whistle-blower lawsuit alleging the company defrauded the US government with a faulty highway guardrail safety system. On Friday, a federal appeals court in New Orleans overturned a 2015 judgment that followed a jury’s finding that the company cheated the US by selling its ET Plus guardrail system without disclosing changes made in 2005.
