Farms come under the hammer
Van’s Auctioneers will present opportunities to acquire farms over the next few weeks.
Buyers should be on the lookout for the auctions near Mookgopong in the Free State and the well-known Misty Meadows equestrian venue just outside Pretoria.
The first auction will be on October 19 at 11am at Milner House, which is a historical landmark, monument and chapel situated on the game farm lodge at the remainder of portion 3 of the farm Driefontein 317, Mookgopong.
This farm is 321ha in extent and the improvements make up about 3,200m².
Apart from Milner House, there is a chapel, tea garden, cold storage facilities, butcher room and more.
The property also features a main lodge with a house, two chalets, bar and dining area, entertainment lapa, swimming pool and staff accommodation.
Adjacent to this is a farm of 400ha, which has not been improved and is ideal for game and cattle farming.
A further two farm portions of about 285ha, with improvements of 2,100m², including a farm stall, three houses, garages, five horse stables, staff houses and two large stores will be on offer.
These farms, comprising a total of 1,008ha, will be offered jointly by Van’s Auctioneers.
Also on auction will be a development named Wonderkrater Vakansiedorp.
It has an approved township development for about 850 stands and is an ideal opportunity for a developer to complete the development, which has not been serviced.
The last property on auction is a farm portion of about 43ha. There are improvements of nearly 23,00m².
It features an industrial storage facility of more than 1,000m², a large house — which is currently used as offices — garages, a workshop, staff rooms and ablution facilities.
As a bonus, the free roaming game on the farm portions are included in the respective sales.
Certain loose assets will also be on offer, including antique furniture and many other items that may be added or removed.
