Eskom should be ashamed
I have been keenly following the Eskom shenanigans, its disciplinary inquiries and the inquiry held at Parliament (Eskom case closes after witnesses fail to testify, November 27).
Eskom should hang its head in shame — it epitomises everything that has gone wrong with SA’s parastatals and the government.
SA has been left in disarray by the way in which the government and its officials have behaved over many years.
In the parliamentary inquiry, I have watched with keen interest how MPs have cross-examined the witnesses. The evidence has been dynamite.
In particular, I want to applaud DA MP Natasha Mazzone, who has been superb in her concise and effective cross-examination. I have been practising law since I was admitted as an advocate in 1982. I have over those many years tried to hone my skills, yet Mazzone has taught me a lot about effective cross-examination.
