Roodt is on a roll

Recognised in three categories (corporate law, mergers and acquisitions law, and mining law) of Best Lawyers since 2008, founder and director of Roodt Inc, Johan Roodt, has maintained his record and once again features on the 2018 list.

Commenting on the state of business over the past 12 months or so, Roodt says: “The economic downturn in SA has had an influence on deal flow and has had a bearing on the services our clients required. We have, however, been able to adapt to our clients’ needs, and to provide services that are in keeping with the times.”

Roodt has represented local and international companies in the fields of renewable energy, wholesale retail, the chemical industry and resources industry in cross-border transactions.

He is a past chairman of the coal committee of the Section on Energy and Resources Law of the International Bar Association and has lectured and addressed numerous national and international conferences and seminars.
