Report: local recruits conduct focused study
The First Session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened at the Great Hall of the People at 9am on March 5, and Premier Li Keqiang delivered the Report on the Work of Government 2018.
CRRC South Africa organised new local recruits to conduct a focused study on the report (English version). General manager Wang Guojun attended the two-day course.
An employee named Sabelo Tywakadi said after studying the report, he discovered that SA can learn a lot from China. In recent years, China has made leaps and bounds in economic, social and scientific development. In 2017, China’s GDP grew by 6.9%, which is much higher than the 1% in SA. How China has achieved such great progress and its experience in creating jobs and resolving poverty can be a model for SA.
Another employee, Joshua, said that China is one of the fastest growing countries in the world. Especially under the premise that the world economy is depressed, China’s poverty population has dropped from 10.2 % to 3.1%, and infrastructure construction has also achieved tremendous successes. He believes that this has benefited from the solidarity of the Chinese people, their struggle for the same goal, which is setting an example for the South African people.
Milicia Dann, the assistant for supply chain, said as the most developed country in Africa, SA should learn more from China, vigorously develop its own advantageous industries, strengthen international cooperation and exchanges, and increase people’s confidence and determination.
Shirly Wang from Taiwan said that China’s achievements in recent years have made her feel very proud. At present, China’s economic policy advocates the development of emerging economies, especially supply-side reforms and the One Belt One Road Initiative. She looks forward to the future of the motherland.
General manager Wang Guojun said that six local employees participating in the study are newly recruited for CRRC Dalian in SA. The course includes two parts — one is to help them to understand CRRC’s company culture and products, and the other is to know China. The report can help them understand China’s progress and changes in the past five years and let them realise the future cooperation between China and SA.
2018 is the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and SA. CRRC hopes that local employees in SA can become a bridge for promoting China-SA cooperation.
