On Sunday the SA Under-19 side face Pakistan’s Under-19s in the final of a triangular 50-over tournament in Paarl.

The second semi-final in the Aussie BBL sees the Hobart Hurricanes host the Sydney Sixers at Hobart (10am start). The final of the Caribbean T20 tournament, in Barbados, is set for 2am on Monday morning (SA time). The score event will have 30 controls, 10 points each, 10 point penalty per minute (or part) over 60 and the Orange course will be 3.2km – along some busy roads and crossing suburban roads.

There will be a mass start for the score event at 5pm. The novices start from 4.45pm. The long and medium routes kick off with Boyes Drive, pedal through Fish Hoek and turn right to cross Black Hill.

At the bottom, the 85km riders turn left to follow the Slangkop, Misty Cliffs, Cape Point and through Simon’s Town’s Black Hill, a second time, Sun Valley and Ou Kaapse Weg for a hill-top finish – but first via a mean climb up to the Maritime Reaction Squadron just after Red Hill.

The 30km route goes straight at the Sun Valley intersecti­on before turning left to Noordhoek and climbing Ou Kaapse Weg for the finish.

There is a neutral zone from the finish line to the venue.

There is also a Pick ’n Pay Junior Kiddies race for 2-13 year-olds, at Reddam House with lots of prizes and goodies as well as a kiddies entertainm­ent corner and other sideshows. Turn right at the end of the Freeway into Steenberg Road. Pass the next two sets of traffic lights ( Westlake Drive & Ou Kaapse Weg). Mountain-bikers will be out at Grabouw for the Spur 24Hour team relay event at Oak Valley Estate, presented by Dirtopia.

Racing starts from noon tomorrow and the 24Hour format is unique as it combines endurance and night riding, while camping with fellow riders and friends over the weekend.

The event is a relay where solo riders or teams of four riders attempt to ride as many laps as possible in a 24-hour time-frame. There is also a fun category for teams between 5-8 riders.

Those that can’t make the full 24 hours can join the riders on the course on Sunday from 9am to noon as part of a 3Hour challenge. Riders will be able to enter on the day for the 3Hour event only. Costs: Spectators R20, extra campers will pay R50 for Saturday night, official support crew (two per team or solo) are allowed to camp free. Further afield most of the country’s top road riders, as well as Burry Stander, Cherise Taylor, David George, Kevin Evans, James Reid, Rourke Croeser and Myles Van Muschenbro­ok, will line up tomorrow and Sunday for the KZN Time Trial and Road Cycling Championsh­ips.

The Time Trial will be run from Beach Road (Kings Park Pool) on a circular loop and the road race along the M13 from Westville down to 45th Cutting and back up the M13 to Cowies Hill. More info:
