Farmer’s body found

NEIGHBOURS foundthe body of a 70-year-old man near his farm in North West, police said yesterday.

The half-naked body of Walter Niedinder was discovered 40m from his Brakfontein farm on Wednesday, Captain Amanda Funani said.

It was not clear when and how Niedinder was killed, she said.

The farm is in the Buffelshoek area, near Mafikeng.

It was believed Niedinder and a friend had an argument over the weekend, Funani said.

Niedinder’s friend was still missing and his whereabouts were unknown, she said.

The farmer’s blue Mercedes-Benz, a TV and a DVD player were missing. No arrests had been made.

Police were investigating cases of murder, vehicle theft, and house robbery.
