Is this the legacy we want for SA?

WHAT was wrong with that “team” photo (“It’s Bok to the future”, Cape Argus, September 13)? Ah, yes, it was all-pale.

And what is wrong with the sentence that included the following sentiment “the finest players in South Africa had gathered”?

Was that true? The picture was from 1937 and, as usual, it is conveniently forgotten that the team is pale and represents only a segment of the country, and not the whole.

The “other” – non-pale folks in the rugby fraternity – might have a bone to pick with this continual writing out of of the rest. Is this the legacy we leave?
