Hunt is on for SA’s pizza with piz­zazz

THE HUNTis on for a pizza with piz­zazz and the an­nual Global Pizza Chal­lenge will see chefs and pizza-mak­ers from all over the coun­try get­ting creative, hop­ing to win the R15 000 prize.

The com­pe­ti­tion, held in 16 coun­tries, will take place at the Sand­ton Con­ven­tion Cen­tre, Joburg, from March 15 to 18.

If you nom­i­nate the win­ning chef or piz­za­maker, you can win a year’s sup­ply of pizzas for a fam­ily of four, to the value of R5 000. The dead­line for en­tries is March 1.

Last year’s win­ner, Colin du Plessis, of Mon­tagu, in the West­ern Cape, served up a roasted but­ter­nut, beet­root and gar­lic pizza se­same and pump­kin seeds, topped with rocket, av­o­cado and smoked buf­falo moz­zarella, driz­zled with red grape bal­samic re­duc­tion (pic­tured).
