Hunt is on for SA’s pizza with pizzazz

THE HUNTis on for a pizza with pizzazz and the annual Global Pizza Challenge will see chefs and pizza-makers from all over the country getting creative, hoping to win the R15 000 prize.

The competitio­n, held in 16 countries, will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre, Joburg, from March 15 to 18.

If you nominate the winning chef or pizzamaker, you can win a year’s supply of pizzas for a family of four, to the value of R5 000. The deadline for entries is March 1.

Last year’s winner, Colin du Plessis, of Montagu, in the Western Cape, served up a roasted butternut, beetroot and garlic pizza sesame and pumpkin seeds, topped with rocket, avocado and smoked buffalo mozzarella, drizzled with red grape balsamic reduction (pictured).
