Western Cape sports stars lauded
NINETEEN sports achievers were honoured by the Western Cape governement at a ceremony in Paarl on Friday.
Canoeist Jasper Mocke was named the sportsman of the year for 2014, while surfer Bianca Buitendag from the southern Cape walked off with the women’s award.
Elrick Kulsen, pictured right above with Brent Walters, head of Cultural Affairs and Sport, won coach of the year. Kulsen coaches hand-cyclist Ernst van Dyk and Cape Town Cycle Tour winner Nolan Hoffman.
