Clarkson apologises for racist rant

SACKEDTop Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson apologised yesterday after hitting an Irish producer and racially abusing him during a heated row.

“I would like to say sorry, once again, to (producer) Oisin Tymon for the incident and its regrettable aftermath,” Clarkson said in a statement issued through Tymon’s solicitors.

Clarkson reportedly flew into a rage when he failed to get a late-night steak and was offered cold cuts at a North Yorkshire hotel where TopGear crew stayed early last year. – ANA, dpa
