Carneiro could block the Special One’s path to United

-

JOSE MOURINHO’S legal wrangle with former Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro is putting his potential move to Manchester United under threat.

Embarrassing details surrounding Carneiro’s exit are set to be made public in June, with Mourinho’s text messages and emails likely to be used as evidence in a full tribunal.

He could also be called to appear as a witness and Carneiro, pictured right, is demanding a public apology from the 53-year-old, who labelled her “impulsive and naive” for going on to the pitch to treat Eden Hazard in August.

Carneiro left Chelsea in September and is suing the club for constructive dismissal, while she also has a separate personal legal case against Mourinho for alleged victimisation and discrimination.

Mourinho wants to return to management and is heavily tipped to take over from Louis van Gaal in the summer, but the United board are not completely convinced. The ongoing battle with Carneiro is set to stretch into the summer, putting him at risk of missing out on the United job.

Carneiro spent five hours in a private hearing at the London South Employment Tribunal in Croydon on Monday as she seeks “substantial damages” from Chelsea. Asked if a settlement had been reached, the 42-yearold shook her head, while her legal team refused to comment.
