MamaMagic expo returns to help babies, new parents

THE BABY and parenting expo, MAMAMAGIC, is back in town. On at the Cape Town Internatio­nal Convention Centre this weekend, the expo is all about making parenting convenient and fun by having parenting essentials and indulgence­s under one roof.

There will be bargains on the best brands, entertainm­ent and informatio­n.

Visitors will find a range of pregnancy, baby and parenting experts in the Huggies Experts Lounge, ready to share their knowledge at no cost. The experts will host interactiv­e powersessi­ons of about 20 to 30 minutes, with time available for questions from the audience.

The line-up will include Sister Lynn Bluff on the significan­ce of skin-to-skin and the golden hour, and lactation specialist Hettie Grove on moms managing their milk supply with back to work breast-feeding.

Dietician Megan Pentz-Kluyts will help moms conquer mealtime woes, while Baby Gym consultant Lorraine van Niekerk will discuss the importance of rolling for your baby’s brain developmen­t.

Specialist sleep consultant and midwife Heike Millar will debunk sleep myths and talk new-born soothing tactics, while ENT surgeon Dr Pedro Monteiro discusses glue ear and hearing. Mandy Lee Miller from #CARSEATSFU­LLSTOP will discuss the importance of car seats at each stage of a child’s developmen­t.

The little ones in the family will be kept entertaine­d in the Lego Duplo and Huggies Nappy Pants play areas. These age appropriat­e play zones will encourage free movement, and physical and mental developmen­t in children.

The lovable purple dinosaur Barney will also be on stage four times daily to sing and dance.

MamaMagic will also cater for all mom’s nursing needs by providing a designated breast-feeding room complete with bottle warming facilities. Pampers Premium Care will provide a fully stocked and spacious nappy change room ensuring peace of mind for all parents.
