Sharp detective solves cases, gets convictions

POLICE have commended the sterling work of one its detectives after numerous cases he solved ended in convictions.

Detective Sergeant Daryl van Noie, a member of Manenberg SAPS detectives, had several cases finalised in the Wynberg regional court, such as the case of Hendrick Davids, 24, found guilty of perjury and sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, suspended for five years.

A Manenberg resident, Junaide Lategan, 38, was sentenced to 18 months for housebreaking and theft. Accused, Mayekiso Lunga, 40, was found guilty of aggravated robbery and sentenced to eight years for possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition and five years for robbery, to be served concurrently.
