Seeking advice to get out of Flexi Club predicament

-

I AM writing to you from the UK. When we lived in South Africa we purchased Flexi Club points.

However, since moving to England we find we can access far better quality holidays directly, rather than through Flexi Club.

I consistently ask for 5-star accommodation, but get offered very ropey 3-star accommodation, which costs me a fortune to fly to.

I have photographic evidence of a dreadful place we were offered in the south of France. Like idiots, we were told not to believe TripAdvisor. It was worse. Sadly the availability is poor and way below expectation of what we are paying for.

Can you offer any practical advice to get out of this predicament as my husband and I 1. no longer have the resources to keep paying this (£864 or R15 465) per year for holidays that don’t exist, 2. find the availability and choice terrible.

Trevor Hattingh, the NCC’s spokesperson, responds: “On the landing page of the NCC’s website we’ve placed a pop-up notice every week with details of the next public hearing(s). It is at the top, left-hand side beneath the tab: About NCC, and is titled Public Hearings.

In addition we have every week issued press releases with public hearing details, and these were uploaded on to our website, under media centre.

(The second round of the) Gauteng hearings have been postponed till further notice. We are in discussions with the panel to finalise dates when everyone will be available, and we will inform the public in due course, hopefully by end of this month.

We are aiming to conclude all facets of the inquiry, including engagements with holiday clubs and venue inspections, by the end of November. The panel should by then have a report available for the commissioner to take forward.”
