Boy drowns in river at Fourways

A BOY, believed to be 10 years old, drowned in a river at Fourways, Johannesburg, paramedics said.

“When ER24 arrived on the scene just after 4pm, they found the boy at the bottom of the river where they managed to get him out. Despite paramedics’ best efforts, he was declared dead on the scene,” ER24 spokeswoman Ineke van Huyssteen said.

The details surrounding the incident were not yet known, she said. – ANA
