Cosatu has been in the vanguard of the fight to root out corruption. We are determined to relentlessly pursue those that have been hijacking our movement to make money, regardless of their connections, and ensure that they are brought to court and, if found guilty, punished severely.

IWPG spokesperson Nancy Roussopoulos said the aim of the campaign was to get 10 million signatures urging the two governments to sign the agreement.

“The campaign started on November 17 in both North and South Korea. It was an internal campaign for two months until it spread to 170 countries across the globe,” she said.

Roussopoulos added that South Africa was one of the countries that needed to be included in the campaign.

“The Cenotaph in Cape Town serves as a remembrance of the wars that took place between the two Korean countries.

“This time around we want things to be different. Instead of having another memorial site, we want a site of signatures of people who opted for peace instead of war,” she said. – Staff Reporter
