Maimane lost plot watching Zuma

I HAVE been a faithful supporter of the DA for many years but no more.

All that Mmusi Maimane has concentrated on for the past two years is the failings and corruption of Jacob Zuma.

Politics, not good governance, has been his focus. It is not a “water disaster” but a “disgrace”. No modern major cosmopolitan city has ever run out of water. What a disgrace.

This morning some tourist official quoted on the national morning TV news channel appealed to tourists to continue visiting Cape Town in spite of Day Zero looming.

The Two Oceans Marathon is confirmed, 12 days before we as citizens will have our taps switched off. Madness.

We are told that this is the worst drought in 100 years. Not by rainfall statistics. If we consider rainfall applied per capita living in Cape Town, then yes. What does this say? No planning. Only one new dam built in the past 10 years. Disgrace.

In the past two years, every four minutes another family arrives in the Cape metropole. People equals water usage. How did the DA council respond ? Appeal for less usage. Disgrace. Israel offered assistance five years ago. Our response: We don’ t need your help.

You are not our friends due to politics and discrimination on preconceived prejudices. Another disgrace. Open borders and economic migration without any planning or build of infrastructure. Not under the DA’s control but still a disgrace.

Town planning. Ever more gated villages and new squatter camps without any urban control . Another disgrace. I am fortunate to be able to leave the region and cannot wait to leave behind this sad and devastated region.
