THE anticipati­on as the lights begin to dim, the perfectly salted popcorn and the marvel of the big screen makes a trip to the movies one of the best activities to do as a family. To get the holiday festivitie­s going, here is a list of what’s on circuit and films soon to be released. After a string of garden gnome disappeara­nces in London, Gnomeo and Juliet look to Sherlock Gnomes to solve the case of their missing friends and family. Running time: 86 minutes Genre: animation After a failed attempt to recover a stolen baby panda, police dog Max reluctantl­y teams with a human FBI agent named Frank. A hot tip leads Max and Frank to Las Vegas for the world’s most exclusive dog show. To find the panda, Max goes undercover as a contestant to get the lowdown from his fellow canines.

With help from their new friends, the crime-fighting duo must foil another kidnapping plot and rescue animals from a gang of greedy smugglers. Running time: 92 minutes Genre: family Opening date: Friday, July 6 Three years after the destructio­n of the Jurassic World theme park, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing return to Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs on the island from a volcano that’s about to erupt. Elastigirl springs into action to save the day, while Mr Incredible faces his greatest challenge yet – taking care of the problems of his three children. Running time: 118 minutes Genre: animation Opening date: Friday, June 15. Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the other Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet – the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artefacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself have never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment. Running time: 156 minutes Genre: adventure Peng rejects the community of his tightknit flock of geese in an attempt to live life on his own terms, but when he rescues two ducklings from a deadly cat, the two latch on to Peng as if he’s their parent. The trio embark on a beautiful and dangerous journey through mountains and lakes, bamboo forests, marble caves and deep river valleys to reach their respective flocks.
