Human Settlements Department is not responding to our query
MY WIFE and I have applied for NHBRC owner builder exemption to build our retirement home.
The NHBRC have turned down our application for a reason we do not agree with. As per required procedure, we have lodged an appeal to the Minister of Human Settlements. We have lodged a letter of appeal to the minister’s office on June 11, 2018, to which we received an acknowledgement that the appeal would be brought to the attention of the minister.
Since then we have received no further communication from the department. We have sent numerous emails to the office, to request an update about the appeal – to date we have not received any response (we have received email read receipts).
I have also called the offices of the department after which I was given the name of a contact person.
She promised to get someone from their office who deals with NHBRC issues to contact me. No one has contacted me as yet, and she no longer responds to my calls. We are really frustrated and do not know what else to do. It would be much appreciated if you could get some response from the department about this unprofessional conduct.
