ROLE MODELS NEEDED IN OUR AREA

-

LIKE all Hanover Park youth they want to be successful. Many drop out of school in the early grades and a few makes it to matric.

At present the area is on knife edge because of the killings in the area.

How do you become successful in such an area? We have seen a Mountview High School student lose his life, a Groenvlei High School student almost killed and an ex-Mountview student (Gift of the Givers) also killed.

Their lives are cut short... with no success to look forward to. Our police force are non-existent... with only empty promises.

With all this gloom and doom I am proud to say that our local boy Carl van Reenen (Mountview High School) “Wade Van Niekerk” is going places.

He has just been offered an athletics scholarship at a prestigious school.

In all this turmoil of killings and drug abuse I pray God’s blessings over his life because success is knocking at his door.

I believe that in the next couple of years we will see another star in the making.

Hanover Park needs this positivity, among all the killings and drugs.

The area is screaming for some successful people.

Many have come out of Hanover Park and just turn their backs on the area. They don’t have the courage or backbone to give back from where they come from.

Even our most successful soccer star Benni McCarthy has forgotten his roots.

These are the successful role models the youth are looking up to. PN HENDRICKS Hanover Park
