SA Youth Choir to accompany legend Mabuse

THE INTERNATIO­NALLY acclaimed SA Youth Choir (SAYC) is among the most exciting choral projects around.

The choir will be in action at the Baxter Theatre at Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse’s one-night show on Friday.

Since its inception in 2005, the choir has showcased its vast abilities on both local and internatio­nal platforms.

The SAYC has positioned itself as one of the most sought-after performanc­e choirs around and regularly performs and records with local and internatio­nal artists.

The choir consists of 54 high school pupils and students between 13 and 25 from all over the country representi­ng the diverse culture.

Featured in the concert is the 14-piece ensemble that has just returned from a whirlwind tour of the US performing in New York and Washington DC.

The bill also includes Tony Cedras, Mmino, Siphokazi Jonas, Roeshdien Jaz and Mabuse’s band commonly know as the Hotband.

Ticket costs start at R200 each and the show will run for 90 minutes with no interval.
