Pick n Pay to assist fire victims

PICK n Pay is committed to helping thousands of victims who were affected by the Khayelitsha fire.

It has set up in-store and online drop-off points for those who would like to assist by donating food, water, blankets, nappies and stationery.

Suzanne Ackerman-Berman, director of transformation at Pick n Pay, said the retailer’s team were on the ground assisting those affected, some of whom were staff.

“We are focusing on the children; our team has gone out to the schools to find out their sizes. We are going to take care of the school shoes, uniforms, stationery and other things that kids need,” said Ackerman-Berman.
