A TOUCH OF HYPOCRISY, PERHAPS?

TURKISH president Recep Tayyip Erdogan is centre stage in Istanbul over the brutal murder of journalist Jamal Kashoggi in the Saudi Embassy on October 2.

All right-minded people agree that the perpetrato­rs should be tried and severely punished. In this instance his righteous anger is not misplaced.

However, what does President Erdogan have to say about his brutal suppressio­n of Turkish journalist­s and opponents of his party?

The elephant in the room is the killing of thousands of Kurds on his orders. Does his stance smack of hypocrisy? JM CHIPKIN Fresnaye
