Security guard murder: teens held
TWO more suspects were arrested in connection with the murder of a security guard in Stellenbosch, police spokesperson Joseph Swartbooi said.
He said a firearm possibly used in the shooting was retrieved from the suspects.
Swartbooi said, the suspects aged 17 and 18, are expected to appear in the Stellenbosch magistrate’s court on a charge of murder.
The arrest follows a day after a 53-year-old security guard suffered fatal injuries in a shooting incident in Linton road in Stellenbosch.
ER24 Emergency Medical Services Spokesperson Ineke van Huyssteen said when emergency services arrived at the scene the fire brigade was already there.
Paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a man lying in the road.
They found that the man had sustained gunshot wounds to his body and he was in a critical condition.
“ER24 paramedics continued with the CPR.
“Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries a short while later and was declared dead on scene,” Van Huyssteen said. |
