‘Permission not needed on oil cuts’
SAUDI Arabia does not need permission from foreign governments or leaders, including US President Donald Trump, on matters related to oil production cuts, says Saudi energy minister Khalid al-Falih.
Trump expressed hope in a tweet on Wednesday that the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) would “be keeping oil flows as is, not restricted”, stressing that there was no need for higher oil prices.
Speaking yesterday, ahead of the Opec ministerial conference in Vienna, Falih told reporters that Opec was seeking a “sufficient” oil output cut among its members.
