New heights to woes inflicted by Telkom

I AM sure that most will agree that dealing with Telkom is a harrowing experience.

We have been living in Van Riebeeckst­rand (Melkbosstr­and) for 28 years and have been through numerous telephones, as one can hardly hear the caller.

I assumed the telephones were faulty but it is actually the cables that need to be replaced in our area and most of the technician­s, who have come to our house over the years, have confirmed this.

My neighbours have exactly the same enigma and this also affects our internet.

Why have they not been replaced?

We pay our bills every month and they are laughing all the way to the bank, while we have to suffer this shabby service.

Telkom should stop riding roughshod over us and should get the problem fixed, even if it is a rather Herculean task to overcome. KAREN SCHAFER
