Summer Market returns to garden

- STAFF REPORTER

THE Summer Market, which opens tomorrow in the Company’s Garden, gives you an opportunity to avoid evening traffic while dining on local cuisine and doing some last-minute Christmas shopping.

Not only that, but you will also be entertained by the Summer Song Contest.

Last year the local talent competition was added to the event.

This competition gives up-and-coming talent the platform to perform.

One of our home-grown talents will walk away with R30 000 worth of prizes.

On the final night of the event’s Summer Song Contest, the top three contestants will compete for the prize and hometown glory.

“The summer market is a celebration of food, culture and fellowship so whether you’re looking for arts, crafts, gifts, or just a relaxing time with loved ones, this is the place to be.

“If it’s entertainment you’re after then the Summer Song Contest is not to be missed as the best singers battle for the top prize.

“Residents and visitors are urged to come down to the Company’s Garden and enjoy the 2018 Cape Town Summer Market,” said mayco member for Area North Grant Twigg.

“The zones that cater for a broad range of interests and ages have proven to be very popular and will be a feature again this year,” Twigg said.

The Cape Town Summer Market will take place from December 19 to 23 in the Company’s Garden and will be open to the public between 6pm and 11pm.
