IS bride gives birth

DAMASCUS: Jihadi bride Shamima Begum has given birth to a baby boy in Syria, according to her family’s lawyer. The 19-year-old was found in a refugee camp in Kurdish-controlled northern Syria last week, where she pleaded to be allowed to return to the UK with her unborn child.

Home Secretary Sajid Javid said he would use all his powers to stop British citizens who joined Islamic State from returning. But lawyer Tasnime Akunjee said Javid did not have the powers to stop her entering the UK. Akunjee said both mother and baby were “healthy”.
