We need a strong opposition in Parliament to stop ANC in its tracks
THE million dollar question as we go to the polls is: “Who should we vote for?”
Our country appears to be worse off economically than under apartheid and the blame can fairly and squarely be placed at the door of the ANC that has been in charge for the past 25 years.
Numerous commissions were informed of senior ANC members who were embroiled in corrupt activities resulting in various State-Owned Enterprises becoming dysfunctional. Eskom, SAA, Prasa, SAPS, etc are but a few.
Voting for the ANC we will allow its members to continue stealing from the state coffers, the proverbial cookie jar. Many senior ANC members have enriched themselves, as surfaced recently at the various commissions of inquiry. Crumbling infrastructure, non-service delivery and corruption will continue unabated until it will be impossible to turn matters around. Do we want to hand our, now beautiful country, in a dysfunctional state to our kids?
To stop corrupt activities and the ANC from continuing to mismanage our country, we need a strong opposition in Parliament. The DA is currently the opposition to the ANC and it appears that service delivery is of an acceptable level in municipalities under the DA’s control. However, the party’s disproportionate allocation of the budgets to the rich and poor, usually favour the rich.
Voting for any of the other parties, we will actually shoot ourselves in the foot. Such a vote will be lost to the opposition and will reduce their representation in Parliament, effectively running the risk of handing total control to the ANC, should they get a two-thirds majority.
Bearing in mind that there are tens of millions of gullible, poor and ill-informed voters, who despite having endured abject poverty for the past 25 years, are naïve and still of the view that Madiba’s promise of houses will be delivered by the ANC this time around.
It seems that we do not have much of a choice of the party that will prevent our country from going to the dogs. Do you agree?
