Prasa executives suspended
THE Passenger Rail Agency of SA’s (Prasa) board of control and group chief executive Nkosinathi Sishi have placed more executives on special leave and suspension.
According to a statement from Prasa, the board had decided to act on the allegations of improper, irregular, corrupt, fruitless and wasteful expenditure against implicated employees.
Prasa has suspended company chief strategy officer Sipho Sithole, head of legal, risk and compliance Martha Ngoye, and placed Tiro Holele, the company executive in the office of the group chief, on special leave.
“This decision follows the outcomes and ongoing investigations that have dogged Prasa of improper, irregular, corrupt, fruitless and wasteful expenditure by various employees.
“This move is to ensure a fair process based on the principle of innocent until proven guilty,” Prasa said.
“The board and staff continue to work with vigour and commitment in our quest to create a Prasa that delivers quality service to our commuters.”
