Any philosophy can be perverted to justify any type of atrocity

-

G’DAY Gary mate, I’m in Australia.

In response to you saying I should hang my head in shame,

I say most people, almost 99%, killed in your cited stats of Syria, Yemen and Iraq, not to mention Afghanistan, China, Palestine, Kashmir and Myanmar, are Muslims. These innocent people were going about their business, practising their religion, until the dogs of war were unleashed upon them in the name of the “war on terror”.

Read between the lines Gary, it’s about… greed and power. Religion is being warped and twisted to manipulate and fire up the masses, just as in the French revolution which ultimately ended in a “reign of terror”. Any sound ideology, religious or not, can be perverted to justify any type of atrocity.

I refuse to be held vicariously liable for the actions of others who have little or no clue of the tenets of Islam, just as you probably wouldn’t want to held vicariously liable for the actions of the architects of apartheid.

As for putting a pin on a map of countries being afflicted by “religious terrorism”, there are just as many afflicted by non-religious terrorism. The worst atrocities are still against the Muslims.

For example, China’s treatment of the Uigher Muslims, the Zionist occupation of Palestine, the US invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq…

If you tell me the US, Europe, Australia and Canada are “Christian countries” you are myopic and a fool to boot. These countries pride themselves in their secular nature. As for other countries, how about ETA,

The Shining Path, Bader-Meinhoff, The Red Brigade, Tamil Tigers and even your good old boys in the ANC were designated as terrorists by the West. One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.

State sponsored terrorism is far worse and as extensive as any other type of terrorism. Any idea or philosophy, whether religious, secular or political, can be perverted. It is human nature to abuse power for selfish ends.
