A new euphemism for Jew hatred
IN HIS opening sentence and making reference to “Pinnochiotis”, Ibrahim Vawda from the Media Review Network (MRN), must himself suffer from a serious dose of “Walter Mittyitis” claiming the “Zionist occupation of Palestine being a colonial project to ensure the perpetual presence of the colonial mentality”. But only a Walter Mitty could possibly morph 4 000 years of continual presence into a colonial occupation.
Even Walter Mitty himself would know that it was the Jewish population in Palestine since Roman times who were known as Palestinians. Delving back in history the Jews of that land were always called Palestinians. For proof of this all Vawda need do is examine the birth certificate of any Jew born in then Palestine.
Simply his use of the “Zionist entity” and avoiding calling Israel by its legal and international name attests to this man’s anti-Semitism. Condemnation of Zionism is the new euphemism for Jew hatred and is manifested in every single article that the MRN and Vawda’s fellow travellers opine. Simply in the tone of his reference to the Zionist entity or the Zionist state is telling his reader the utter contempt he harbours for Israel and its people.
In this time of the Covid-19 virus when the world has far greater issues to contend with than petty hatred, it’s time to highlight a far older virus than the one threatening humanity – it is called anti-Semitism, and it’s only a matter of time that a vaccine and antidote for the Covid-19 will emerge but will that other age-old virus ever be eradicated?
