THE V&A Waterfront will host an online charity concert tomorrow evening.

Hundreds of supporters are expected to experience the event, Good Night Friday, live via their mobile devices.

Comedian Marc Lottering is scheduled to host the concert remotely with musicians Jimmy Nevis, Prime Circle’s Ross Learmonth, Wandile Mbambeni and Acoustic Element are billed to perform.

The V&A Waterfront has encouraged those who are able to donate to support a beneficiary of the concert, with all funds raised to be donated to Ladles of Love, which provides meals for the homeless and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Founded as a soup kitchen in 2014, Ladles of Love initially strived to serve more than 100 meals a week.

It has now grown to four weekly kitchens, services four schools as well as assists four other feeding scheme initiatives. Since the extension of the lockdown, Ladles of Love has tried to increase its daily meals to 2 000.

Founder Danny Diliberto said it has a network of homes it hopes to provide with food.

The organisation also plans to work with eight others as well as community groups to distribute sandwiches and ingredients for meals for communities and families in need, Diliberto added. To watch the event, go to:
